The Red Wyandotte

In the UK standard, the Red Wyandotte is not a 'self' Red as in some other countries. In the UK it is a Red 'Columbian'

The Standard for the Red Wyandotte

Male and Female plumage: Surface rich, bright, glossy red. Neck hackle of medium shade to match body colour, with a black stripe down the centre of each feather at the lower part. Tail and coverts green-black. Wing primaries, inner half black, outer half red; secondaries inner half dark slate or black, outer half to match body.
Undercolour: dark or slate, clearly defined.

Serious defects in all colours

Any feathers on shanks or toes. Permanent white or yellow in ear-lobe covering more than one third of its surface. Comb other than rose, or falling over to one side, or so large as to obstruct the sight. Shanks other than yellow, except in mature birds, which may shade to light straw. Any deformity.
